Juanjo Hierro talks about Morfeo and openFWPA for “The 451 Group”

Juanjo Hierro, in an interview for “The 451 Group, talks about Morfeo and openFWPA. He explained that the Morfeo Project is based on “The Law of Conservation of Attractive Profits”, articulated by Clayton Christensen in his book “The Innovator’s Solution”:

When attractive profits disappear at one stage in the value chain because a product becomes modular and commoditized, the opportunity to earn attractive profits with proprietary products will usually emerge at an adjacent stage“.

OpenFWPA is already functional

After some months of work, we open the blog announcing that the release we have just uploaded to the Subversion repository does not have dependencies from proprietary third parties, with the exception of a some Sun modules: Java Message Service (JMS), Java Management Extensions (JMX) and Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB).The code that has been published is totally autocontained, independent and functional. We have integrated the database system HSQLDB in the sample application (sampleapp) so that it is not necessary to have any specific database infrastructure to try it.
